Guardsquare builds a mobile application security platform combining code hardening, Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP), security testing, and runtime threat monitoring for Android and iOS. The company serves financial services institutions, healthcare organizations, and gaming enterprises that require protection for user data, in-app transactions, and proprietary code, and reports more than 1,000 customers worldwide. Backed by investors including Battery Ventures and Verdane, Guardsquare also maintains ProGuard, a widely used open-source Java bytecode optimizer for the Android development ecosystem. In February 2026 Guardsquare acquired the Extended Threat Defense (XTD) technology and customer base from Verimatrix, adding runtime threat monitoring to its mobile app protection line.
