Black Duck is an application security testing vendor formed in October 2024 when Clearlake Capital and Francisco Partners carved the Software Integrity Group out of Synopsys as an independent, PE-owned company. Its portfolio spans software composition analysis (Black Duck SCA), static analysis (Coverity), dynamic analysis (Continuous Dynamic), interactive testing (Seeker), protocol fuzzing (Defensics), application security posture management (Software Risk Manager), and the Polaris SaaS platform. Over 4,000 organizations worldwide, including regulated enterprises in financial services, healthcare, and government, use Black Duck to secure their software.
