RMail
Outbound email encryption with data-leak prevention and court-admissible proof of delivery.
RMail Overview
What it does
RMail is a Secure Email Gateway (SEG) product focused on outbound email protection: encryption, data-leak prevention, and legally verifiable proof of delivery. Its SMART Email Encryption automatically selects the delivery method, recipient-transparent TLS or a password-protected message, based on recipient capability, avoiding the portal logins that deter recipients. A patented Registered Receipt record returns timestamped, court-admissible forensic proof of who received what and when, a registered-delivery capability most email security gateways do not offer.
How it works
The product deploys three ways, used together or on their own: a security gateway at the mail-server perimeter with optional inbound anti-spam and anti-malware scanning, inbox-integrated add-ins for Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Gmail, and a developer API for embedding e-security into business applications. Outbound mail is checked against rules-based data-loss-prevention policies that flag misaddressed recipients and sensitive content before send, then encrypted with AES 256-bit and enforced TLS. A Targeted Attack Pre-emption layer surfaces compromised accounts, lookalike domains, and hijacked reply threads, while every message can return a Registered Receipt for compliance evidence.
Credentials and traction
RMail was named in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Email Security Platforms and the companion Gartner Critical Capabilities for Email Security. RPost won the 2024 Aragon Research Innovation Award for Content Security. Named customers span regulated and global enterprises including Coca-Cola, the United Nations, Allianz, and BT. Operating since 2000, the product targets healthcare, legal, insurance, financial services, and government teams that must encrypt outbound email and prove compliant delivery.
Key Capabilities
mapped to solution categoriesFilters spam and bulk unwanted mail before delivery.
Detects and prevents phishing and business email compromise using sender reputation, signatures, and natural language and semantic analysis of message content, and exposes the reasoning behind a verdict to administrators.
Enforces TLS for SMTP transport and supports S/MIME or PGP for end-to-end message encryption based on sender policy or recipient certificate availability.
Provides legally admissible proof that a message was sent, delivered, and opened, with tamper-evident records of content and timestamps, for regulated correspondence, notices, and contracts.
Inspects outbound email before delivery for data loss prevention policy violations, malicious content, and phishing links, and checks for misaddressed recipients and misattached files, warning or blocking the sender so accidental exposure is stopped at the gateway.
Acts as the organization's message transfer agent, accepting, queuing, routing, and delivering inbound and outbound mail with policy-based routing, rate control, and delivery reporting, so the gateway manages mail flow rather than only inspecting it.
