What it does

The GreyNoise Platform is a Cyberthreat Intelligence (CTI) product that classifies internet-wide scanning and exploitation traffic at the network edge, separating targeted attacks from opportunistic background noise so security teams can suppress low-priority alerts and concentrate on active threats. Its distinguishing mechanism is the Global Observation Grid, a network of passive sensors that impersonate vulnerable software to draw out attackers and capture every packet, producing verifiable, first-party intelligence on the IP addresses scanning and attacking the internet.

How it works

The platform operates through three linked functions: Query, Observe, and Automate. Query provides real-time investigation of any IP or CVE against GreyNoise's internet-wide view, with GNQL search, behavioral tags tied to CVEs across 90-day activity timelines, and packet-level forensics in Session Explorer. Observe runs the passive sensor grid that records attacker behavior, including JA4 fingerprints and raw payloads. Automate converts any saved query into dynamic, vulnerability-specific blocklists and pushes intelligence to firewalls, SIEM, and SOAR tools through more than 80 integrations and a bulk IP lookup API.
