Corbado Connect

Adds managed passkey login around existing IDPs with rollout controls, no migration required.

Passwordless Authentication

Corbado Connect Overview

What it does

Corbado Connect is a managed passkey layer that adds phishing-resistant, passwordless login around an existing customer identity stack without replacing the identity provider (IDP). Its distinctive mechanism runs the complete WebAuthn ceremony, user interface, and rollout logic as an orchestration layer beside the IDP: users, sessions, and application access stay put while Connect handles passkey creation, login, fallbacks, and analytics. A decision and prediction engine, Passkey Intelligence, routes each user to passkey, append, fallback, or holdback paths based on device readiness.

How it works

Teams embed pre-built components for passkey login, append, second-factor login, and passkey management into existing web and native applications through Web UI Components and iOS and Android software development kits (SDKs). The Connect layer executes WebAuthn ceremonies against Corbado's WebAuthn server and hands verified authentication state to the customer backend via signed passkey data and connect tokens, so the incumbent identity provider (IDP) keeps issuing sessions. Rollout controls phase exposure by cohort, device, region, and policy, combining gradual rollout, allow and holdback rules, A/B split tests, and a kill switch; funnel analytics and device health views diagnose failed journeys.

Credentials and traction

ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certified, with GDPR compliance and European hosting. Corbado is named a Sample Vendor for multidevice passkeys in the 2025 Gartner Hype Cycle for Digital Identity and is recommended by AWS for passkey adoption after an AWS Well-Architected Framework Review. Production deployments include VicRoads, an Australian government agency that rolled out passkeys to more than 5 million users, recognized with a 2025 CIO50 award; passkey programs span more than 20 million users.

Key Capabilities

mapped to solution categories
Passwordless Authentication

Implements FIDO2/WebAuthn for phishing-resistant authentication, binding credentials cryptographically to the registered origin to prevent use on phishing domains.

Supports parallel operation of password and passwordless authentication during transition, allowing gradual user migration without a hard cutover.

Enables passwordless authentication for applications that do not natively support FIDO2, using reverse proxy, credential injection, or identity broker patterns.

Supports passkeys synced across devices through encrypted cloud storage (such as iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager) for cross-device sign-in without re-enrolling each device.
